So, part of this whole thing is my adjustment to Los Angeles. On the corner of my street is a Hispanic Catholic Church. I'm not a religious guy, so I don't really go, and their church bells aren't waking me up on Sunday or anything, so, it's just pretty much like any other building.

Around 7 PM today I heard a lot of shouting outside - like a big shouting match. I got up and bolted outside to see what all the commotion was about and was greeted with a large parade.

My video camera was occupied at the time, so I had to capture it on my digital camera:


Their parade route only went around the block, so it didn't seem like it was that big of a thing. I asked a couple of people what the parade was for (we almost wondered if it was a child's funeral or something). They told us that it was a commemoration of the birth of Christ. The church has never seemed that progressive to acknowledge that Jesus wasn't born on Christmas day, in fact, it really seems like the opposite. In addition, googling around hasn't turned up any sort of results as to any sort of Catholic association with today.

So, I'm not sure exactly what was going on.

What a weird place.
